I am a Parent

How can I get involved?

Below are just some of the ways you can celebrate CASA Family Day in your home:

  • Help out other busy moms and dads! Find us on Facebook and Twitter and share your stories, tips and recipes.
  • Check out our Parent Toolkit that has parenting tips for how to connect with your kids.
  • Having trouble getting your kids to talk? Check out our Conversation Starter Questions and get the conversations started with your children.
  • Download our Showing and Growing Gratitude exercise. Spending time each day focusing on what you’re grateful for and sharing it with your family can help you feel more positive and connected.
  • Enocurage your kids to be their own superhero with our Be Your Own Hero and Your Family Shield exercise.
  • Check off items from our Parent Activity Challenge each week.
  • Try some of the simple and fun family activities from our Daily Planner.
  • Organize a Family Day event in your community. For ideas on how to celebrate with a local group, visit the I am a Community Group section.
  • Talk to your pediatrician to make sure they are screening your children to prevent risky substance use and/or behavior.
  • Need more parenting tips? Learn more about how to talk to your kids about alcohol, drugs, addiction and substance abuse by visiting the Tools You Can Use page and by reading How to Raise a Drug-Free Kid: The Straight Dope for Parents.
